Unveiling The Vision: Shawnee Lions Club Welcomes New Mayor Eric Stephens to Chart the City's Future

Shawnee Lions Club recently welcomed newly elected Mayor Eric Stephens, who shared his vision for the city’s future. This event marked the beginning of a new chapter in local governance, and club members were eager to hear how he plans to foster positive changes in Shawnee.

Mayor Stephens opened by discussing his Shawnee roots and acknowledged both the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

He discussed such topics as the ongoing rehabilitation work from the April 2023 tornado, upgrades to city infrastructure, most notably our aging water system. Other projects discussed were widening of the highways to increase traffic to our city businesses, upgrades to the airport and his long-standing ties to our local and state legislators to help accomplish projects.
