Bikes for Kids

Shawnee Lions Club recently hosted Travis Hurst from Kids Action, who spoke about the Bikes For Kids program, which donates brand new bicycles to local elementary school students in need in our community. They are in their 19th year and every December they give several hundred new bikes to kids that otherwise would not have one. In these days of kids getting much of their entertainment from screens and devices, , their goal is to make dreams come true and to help our youngsters to be more active and healthy.

Additionally we were glad to have some representatives from the Shawnee Parks Department for lunch to show our appreciation for their hard work in keeping our community clean and beautiful.
